Dear brethren in Jesus,
two other months have passed
and,in a sultry day, waiting in vain for an abundant rain
to come, we want to tell you again about the way in which
the Lord is building His Kingdom here in Albania.
In
the last letter we spoke about our moving to Ardi's house.
Now, we are feeling at home in the new house. We have organized
every thing better, even though we had to meet several expenses
to buy some furniture for the flat, as it was empty.
We want to thank the Italian Church for the money collected
for this purpose because without it we couldn't have had
the possibility to buy the furniture.
Ardi
and his family live downstairs, so we have also excellent
neighbours, always available for every need we have and
we feel at home. As soon as it was possible, i.e... when
we bought the chairs and the couches, we restarted the meetings
in our house and we are happy because the meetings are going
on very well. Every time, the Lord is blessing us in a wonderful
way and there are always new people coming to hear His word
for the first time. At the moment, the group is composed
by 15 people so we have decided to open a church also here
in Pogradec in September when we return from Italy,
in the garage under our flat. All the missionaries who are
in the P.E.P., are very happy for this new group and this
makes us glad.
In the village of Cerravė, thanks the Lord, the
situation has changed for the better, after a period of
standstill. Ilir, the man who hosted us to his house for
the meetings, has serious spiritual problems which, some
time have caused uneasy also to the young people who come
to our meetings. So, we have been forced to find an other
place to get together and a new door was opened at Gerti's
brother house, a boy who helps Luciana in the children's
work. Even though they aren't believers, they have received
us with pleasure in their house taking part, when it is
possible, to the meeting.
It is now two weeks that we
have started a work with a numerous group of children also
in this village and as the meeting are taking place outside,
in a street where there pass a lot of people, some of them
stop to listen to what these Italians are speaking about.
And the Word is sown in the hearts.
In the other villages the work is going on normally,
despite the great work in this period in the fields make
our brethren, especially in Bratomire and in Blacė,
tired and this cause a little "heaviness" during
the meeting.
In
Stropckė we know some girls who desire to come to
the church but because of the opposition in their families
they can't come. So we have started a meeting only for women
in Mira's house, a sister who lives in this village. Linda
and Luciana are alternatively leading this meetings every
other week. We think that this is a good opportunity, not
only for the girls who already came, but also to know other
women and to give them the opportunity to discover the immense
love that Jesus has for them. Besides, we have started guitar
lessons to prepare other musicians.
In September the Bible School will start again and, from
our churches three boys will take part: Sokol and
Gerti, involved with the work with the children,
and Rudi, who plays the keyboard in the Stropckė's
church. Our aim is to make disciples and to give those who
are faithful the possibility to prepare them better to serve
the Lord. But to do this, many times,we need money to pay
the school, besides, the boys need to pay extra for the
food because during the six months of the school their families
should support them. Special thanks to the churches in Germany,
who had offered the necessary amount for the enrollment
of our brethren to the school.
In these last two months
Sandro's mother has been with us in Albania so she has understood
better our work here, how we live and has also got to know
the Albanian brethren. This has been an immersion to the
past for her, when she was young. She has had a good time
here, but some difficulties due to the language and lack
of water.
In August we will be in Italy to spend some
holidays with our family, and the children (and not only
them!) are counting the days. We think to return to Albania
by the middle of September.
We are sure that the work
in Albania is always in your hearts and in your prayers.
Love from Sandro, Luciana, Carlo Ester
